Terms of Service
Effective date: July 15, 2026 · Applies to sparbjj.com and the SPAR platform.
1. The service
SPAR provides a BJJ gym directory, athlete training tools, community gallery, tournament listings, a match timer, and a gear shop. By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms.
2. Your account
You sign in with email magic links — keep your inbox secure. You're responsible for activity under your account. One account per person; usernames must not impersonate others or contain offensive content. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of photos and content you upload. By setting content to gym-visible or public you grant SPAR a non-exclusive license to display it on the platform at the visibility level you chose. Don't upload content you don't have rights to, or content that is unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit. Photos of minors require a parent or guardian's consent. We may remove content that violates these rules.
4. Assumption of risk
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a contact sport. Training information on SPAR (curricula, techniques, timers) is informational only and is not medical or coaching advice. Train under qualified supervision; you assume all risk of injury from training decisions.
5. Gym listings & tournaments
Directory data is provided in good faith and may be inaccurate or out of date — verify schedules and details with the gym or organizer. Tournament registration through SPAR records your intent to compete; the organizer's own rules govern the event.
6. Shop purchases
Payments are processed by Stripe under their terms. Prices include applicable product costs; shipping and taxes are shown at checkout. Returns: unworn gear within 30 days — email shop@sparbjj.com.
7. Acceptable use
No scraping, spamming, harassment, reverse engineering, or attempts to access other users' private data. Community features (gallery favorites, profiles) exist to build the BJJ community — keep it oss.
8. Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SPAR's total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.
