Who we are

SPAR ("we", "us") operates sparbjj.com, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community and training platform. For any privacy question or request, email privacy@sparbjj.com.

What we collect

• Account data — email address, username, display name, belt level, and optional age group, weight class, and home gym.
• Training data you enter — training logs, belt progressions, technique lists, curricula, goals, and tournament registrations.
• Photos you upload — stored with the visibility level you choose (private, gym members, or public).
• Technical data — client-side error reports (page, error message) and, only with your consent, analytics events via Google Analytics.

How we use it

To run the platform: signing you in (magic-link email via Supabase), showing your dashboard, powering gym search and community features, sending transactional email (via Resend), and — if you subscribed — the newsletter. Gym-match recommendations may be processed by Anthropic's Claude API; your query and public gym data are sent, never your account details. We do not sell personal data.

Photo visibility

You control every photo's audience: Only me (visible to you alone), My gym members (athletes with the same home gym), or Public (the SPAR community gallery, visible to anyone). You can change or delete a photo at any time from your profile.

Cookies

Essential cookies keep you signed in. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) run only after you accept them in the consent banner. You can decline and every feature still works.

Service providers

Supabase (database, auth, photo storage), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email), Stripe (shop payments — we never see your card number), Anthropic (AI recommendations), Google Analytics (only with consent).

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You can export all data we hold about you or delete your account (which erases your profile, training data, and photos) directly from your profile page, or by emailing privacy@sparbjj.com. Deletion is permanent and completes within 30 days including backups.

Data retention & security

We keep your data while your account is active. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our storage providers. Suspended accounts retain data until deleted by the user or after 12 months of suspension.

Children

SPAR is not directed at children under 13. Youth athletes aged 13–17 should register with a parent or guardian's consent.

Changes

We'll post any material changes here and update the effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
